blood splat

Ok, first off pick some good brownish colors I picked the real light tan one and the dark brown that almost looked black.

Ok now goto filter>render>clouds, then click and hold the layer and drag it over create a new layer to duplicate it.

now on the layer that you just made(the top one) in layer options change Normal to Overlay, and press ctrl>shift>E the contract all layers.

Now press ctrl A then ctrl c to copy, then goto windows>show channels and make a new channel and press ctrl v to paste it. with the lasso tool make some wavy zig zags, then goto select>feather and do about 5 or so. now goto select inverse chose black for your color and press alt backspace to fill it. Then press the button Load Channel as Selection.

Now make a new layer and chose a good red and alt backspace to fill it. then in channel options change Normal to Color Burn. Then select the backround layer and goto filter>texture>texturizer. and chose brick I set the options up as scaling = 106% and Relief = 4 just for a more 3d look.

now hopefully you should have something like this
